Two DJs who were both born in the mid eighties, cheer your weekend up with a sound inspired by the early Parisian scene. This scene started a decade ago with Daft Punk and Cassius but today Paris got a bunch of new names who took over the scene; Justice, Uffie, SebastiAn, Kavinsky, Mr.Oizo, Teenage Bad Girl and of course the label Kitsune. So get ready for some earcandy with a lot of Parisian party crashers but please don't be surprised if you hear some Favela Booty Beats, the Baltimore Sound and Rage Against the Machine.
After a friendship of ten years The Walk and Rogerseventytwo decided during the summer of 2004 to work together. With the same taste and interest in music they were determined to give the boring DJ scene a big boost with a new sound. With great support of captain Joost van Bellen they both had the honour to perform together twice with Uffie and Feadz at Holland’s filthiest party Rauw. Since their performance at Rauw in 11, they had gigs at Zeitgeist in the Sugarfactory, at Paradiso with Justice and Gildas ( Kitsune ), at Maassilo during the new concept Ruis and at Loods6 for Vice Magazine. They celebrated their first gig abroad in London during the Tiger Trax label night.
Next to a being a DJ, Rogerseventytwo is also a producer. Since his first remix was released on vinyl in the summer of 2005 he never left the label Tixer Trax. After a honourable report on DMC Buzz Chart and being selected as an Essential Selection by Pete Tong on BBC radio 1, Rogerseventytwo will release his first EP this year. Just when you think this is all, he will tell you that he’s a well known remixer for the Canadese label Eyezcream (with artists like: Lifelike, DJ DLG and David Rubato), where he had the honour to remix Annie and Kate Smith.
The Walk not only stands behind the decks with Rogerseventyto. Next to being a DJ he’s also the brain.
After finishing a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology he is now working hard for his Master in Medicines at the University of Amsterdam. So besides working on a massive DJ career The Walk is definitely willing to finish his education with great success and save lives in the future!
