In the early 90’s Sergio Zaandam aka DJ KID worked as a dj at a dutch local radiostation called Airpeace FM in Almere. He was already a hero in Almere when he made his first appearance as a club dj during a Blackstreet concert in the Amsterdam Escape venue. This was his breakthrough – soon he was a household name at the biggest parties and events. Audiences love his creative and refreshing style; as one of the resident dj’s at Club Timeless in Amsterdam he made the crowd go wild every Sunday, together with DJ Michel.
DJ KID was also one of the mix dj’s of New Dance Radio in Amsterdam. When the owner of the famous Club Cubanito in Zurich, Switzerland, heard him working the turntables he immediately invited him to come and play in Switzerland. Now DJ KID still flies from Amsterdam to Zurich every Saturday to please the Swiss crowd.
In 1996 he was chosen by TMF as the best "Welcome to The Pleasure Zone DJ". Not long after that he could add the title of “best urban dj” to his list of achievements. New York, Miami, Freeport (Bahamas), Belgium, Germany, Spain, Italy, Surinam, Bahrain en Dubai… he travels the world. DJ KID was one of the first dj’s in Holland who used a microphone while playing his records. MC-ing became a phenomenon in Holland and made DJ KID, besides top dj, an artist slash performer.

No-one less than Montell Jordan crowned DJ KID as the Dutch FunkMasterFlex when he was in Holland to promote his first cd. Usher personally requested BMG to have DJ KID be the DJ at his Paradiso show. DJ KID performed at the biggest after-parties of artists like LIL’Kim, Ja Rule, Jagged Edge, Blackstreet, Aaliah, Destiny’s Child (Zurich), Mary J. Blige (Zurich), Puff Daddy (Victory Tour), Brandy en Ray J (Zurich).

Royal Radio

DJ KID is the founder of the first Dutch Urban Internet Radio Station named ROYAL RADIO.


Dubbelfriss

In 2003 DJ KID hypes the nation: a Dubbelfrisss-commercial (juice), in which he performs and says: “Zoene, zoene, maak me gek!” (kiss, kiss, make me crazy!), becomes a huge hit and is nominated for several advertising awards. DJ KID’s star is still rising…..be on the look-out.
