The C.A.P (Con Artiz Produktion) movement started in 2000 with Nemesiz and Streetz when Nemesiz was residing in Dominica. The two started out dj-ing making unique mixes in Dancehall, Hip Hop, Reggae and R&B.
In 2001 Nemesiz moved back to St. Maarten where he picked up rapping once again and went on to form the rap group Under Ground Rebels (U.G.R) with Spec, Infinite and Nonchalant.
In 2003 Streetz joined the group when he also moved to St. Maarten. At that point the name C.A.P took a hierarchy role. “We had to con our way into the game, cause they didn’t want to let us in,” is Nemesiz’s explanation of the motive behind the C.A.P name. At the end of 2005 Bandit was added to the roster and A.Lonez joined in 2006.
C.A.P members truly contribute to the unique multicultural atmosphere of St. Maarten. All members were either born in or grew up most of their lives on St. Maarten; however the diversity of their experiences abroad is what makes their musical aspects addressed in their songs so exclusive.
